JOB TITLE: Deputy Manager – Domiciliary and Complex Care
REPORTS TO: Registered Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Day-to-day operational management of care services, supervision of staff, and ensuring the well-being and support of service users.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality domiciliary and complex care services in line with the Health and Social Care Standards (Scotland) and Care Inspectorate regulations. The Deputy Manager will be responsible for assisting with operational leadership, staff supervision, care quality monitoring, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. This includes overseeing the delivery of specialist and complex care, ensuring service users receive safe, effective, and person-centred support that promotes dignity, respect, independence, and choice.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE
· Support the Registered Manager with tender and bid submissions for new services or contracts.
· Proven experience in care management or supervisory roles within health and social care, preferably domiciliary or supported living services.
· Knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Standards (My Support, My Life) and Care Inspectorate regulations.
· Experience or willingness to train in the oversight of specialist and complex care provision.
· Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
· Ability to ensure compliance with Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007, Data Protection Act 2018, and other relevant legislation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Support the Registered Manager in the overall leadership and day-to-day running of Yeshua Healthcare’s domiciliary and complex care services.
· Ensure all care delivery meets the Care Inspectorate’s Key Questions on Safe, Effective, Compassionate, and Well-led services.
· Supervise, mentor, and support care staff, ensuring they are trained, competent, and compliant with policies and procedures.
· Oversee the development, review, and implementation of care plans to meet each service user’s needs and preferences.
· Monitor the delivery of complex care tasks, ensuring they are carried out safely and in accordance with training and competency standards.
· Conduct regular quality assurance checks and audits, reporting findings to the Registered Manager.
· Liaise with service users, families, NHS teams, social workers, and other professionals to coordinate care.
· Manage staff rotas, sickness cover, and allocation of shifts to maintain continuity of care.
· Address safeguarding concerns promptly, following the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.
· Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 (UK GDPR).
· Stay informed about updates to health and social care legislation, Care Inspectorate guidance, and best practice standards.
