Salary: £44,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (18 management hours + 22 clinical hours)
Shift Pattern: Days (Monday–Friday)

REQUIREMENTS:

✅ Essential:

  • NMC-registered General Nurse (RGN) with proven experience in dementia care.
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or Senior Nurse in a nursing home.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage conflicts.
  • In-depth knowledge of CQC standards and dementia best practices.

✅ Desirable:

  • Management qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Leadership or equivalent).
  • Experience in a fully occupied nursing home setting.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Nurse Manager (RGN) to join our 42-bed dementia nursing home in Maidstone. This is a unique dual-role position, combining leadership responsibilities (18 hrs/week) with hands-on clinical duties as Nurse in Charge (22 hrs/week). The home operates at full occupancy, offering a stable and rewarding environment where you can make a real difference in residents’ lives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:MANAGEMENT DUTIES (18 HRS/WEEK):

  • Support the Home Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring CQC compliance and high standards of care.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the nursing and care team, promoting best practices in dementia care.
  • Assist with staff training, rotas, and performance reviews.
  • Contribute to care planning, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

CLINICAL DUTIES (22 HRS/WEEK AS NURSE IN CHARGE):

  • Deliver direct nursing care to residents with dementia, ensuring person-centred, compassionate support.
  • Administer medications, manage complex care needs, and liaise with GPs/multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to safeguarding and infection control protocols.
