Jo Jo’s Day Care Nursery Limited - Canterbury ltd are currently recruiting for experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to work in a ’New 80 place Early Years Setting’ in Canterbury, Kent.
We currently run a nursery setting in Herne Bay which is rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. This is a very well known setting in the area and has been operating since 2008.

In order to be considered for the role, you will need:

  • A passionate and positive attitude
  • To role model behaviours including a strong ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Understanding of the EYFS and the ability to fully implement all of its requirements.
  • Understanding of Ofsted’s requirements and current legislation.
  • Sound understanding of child development and of children’s needs.
  • Ability to plan and implement a pre-school curriculum.
  • Ability to assist with leading and managing a team.
  • Commitment to and understanding of diversity and equality.
  • Ability to write clear reports and communicate clearly in spoken and written form.
  • A minimum of grade C of English and Maths
  • Proven experience and success as a Third in charge / Team Leader / Deputy Nursery Manager - MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE
  • A full and relevant child care qualification (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent but ideally a degree)
  • Experience managing financial budgets
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong parent partnerships to encourage their involvement with their child’s next steps.

Your role as Deputy Nursery Manager will include:

  • Promoting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues
  • Ensuring health, safety and wellbeing of the children at all times
  • Managing the smooth running of the nursery
  • Leading the staff team to deliver high quality practice within the nursery
  • Office based duties including finances, budget control, parent enquiries, monitoring, supervisions and recruitment.

Also medical clearance and is subject to references.
Current Child Protection and First Aid Training (preferable)
