Together with the System and Integration Director, the Deputy Project System and Operation will be responsible for Systems and Rolling Stock and will take care of:

  • Developing methodological plans for design, procurement, testing, and commissioning activities;
  • Analyzing and implementing customer specifications and requirements, managing any possible variations in coordination with project management;
  • Developing technical design and integration (interfaces and requirements management, interoperability assessment, RAMS studies, EMC studies, procurement strategy evaluation, etc.) at all possible levels (initial design, intermediate design, and final design) up to commissioning;
  • Coordinating contractor activities to plan detailed design and construction work fully aligned with the technical, functional, and scheduling requirements included in the tender design;
  • Verifying and managing the detailed design developed by contractors;
  • Supervising construction, factory, and on-site testing activities;
  • Supervising commissioning activities;
  • Interfacing with local authorities to obtain the necessary certificates and permits (safety, security, fire protection, and life safety, etc.) for design, construction, and the line’s revenue service opening.

To carry out the above-mentioned activities, the Deputy Project System and Operation, together with the System and Integration Director:

  • Will coordinate an international team of engineers and system designers;
  • Will liaise with the client and its consultants on any issues related to systems and operations;
  • Will interact with higher-level Project Management, including discipline managers, the Director of Integration & Systems Engineering, and the O&M Director.
