Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Deputy Program Manager – Delivery for a full-time position that can be based from any of our Greater Toronto Area offices (Mississauga preferred). The candidate for this position will be the primary program delivery leader for a 6-year program to expand water and wastewater utilities supporting the sustainable future of the city. The projects within the program include drinking water and wastewater conveyance and related infrastructure and delivery includes planning, feasibility, design and construction oversight.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the Program Manager and client in establishing strategic delivery plans for the timely and cost-effective delivery of program projects
  • Develop and lead a high performing team in the delivery of complex multidisciplinary water and wastewater projects.
  • Work successfully within a team environment and communicate effectively with other program and project team members and clients.
  • Communicate effectively with communications team and stakeholders to build a strong relationship of trust and understanding.
  • Work closely with the program and project managers and other discipline engineers as a key player in leading the design and construction delivery.
  • Support utilization of processes for project teams to standardize reporting and project methodology to complete design and construction within standards.
  • Oversee the development of technical reports, calculations, and design decisions.
  • Oversee development of technical specifications, tender documents, and review design drawings.
  • Assist in conducting technical quality reviews of deliverables.
  • Liaison with the disciplines to coordinate design efforts, manage project schedules, and track budgets.
  • Conduct periodic site visits during design and construction
  • Oversee delivery team to maintain continuity through complete project, from design through construction.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to technical staff.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s degree +12 years of related experience specifically in design and construction of municipal water and wastewater projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Previous experience overseeing and coordinating all technical aspects of capital works projects over $100 Million CAD.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 15+ years of related experience specifically in design and construction of municipal water and wastewater conveyance projects, preferably with tunnelling and/or alternative delivery experience
  • Post-graduate degree in water or wastewater treatment.
  • Registered as a P.Eng. in the province of ON.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as effective report writing.
