DEPUTY STORE MANAGER

Job Title: Deputy Store Manager
Training Location: Chinatown / Tottenham / Alperton / Stratford
Work Location: New Malden (KT3 4EP)
Salary: From £32,000 - £35,000 per annum
Reports To: Store Manager, Senior Management

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluent Chinese speaking and written skills are desirable – Mandarin or Cantonese
  • Previous experience in a fast paced retail environment
  • Previous experience in dealing with high revenue turnover stores
  • Confidence in carrying out hands on tasks
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of 30 to 50 staff
  • Work with the Store Management Team to ensure the smooth operation of the store
  • Carry out financial control and budgeting
  • Ensure stock is managed in line with the daily sales’ needs
  • Stock control and management including shrinkage and wastage manageme
  • Understand internal performance and take action to maximise store profitability
  • Carry out Food Safety, Health & Safety risk assessments on a regular basis
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of customers, employees and visitors at all times
  • Ensure that all statutory and company regulations are followed in accordance with company procedures, and legal and statutory requirements, demonstrating due diligence in all areas and keeping all documentation up to date at all times
  • Develop local customer knowledge and competitor awareness
  • Work with Store Management Team to develop a suitable marketing strategy which meets the demands of your current customers and actively recruits new customers
  • Assist in recruiting new starters
  • Oversee the training of new starters to ensure the Company standards are achieved
  • Assist to develop the potential of staff and implement a progression plan
  • Hold an investigation meeting when necessary
  • Ensure staff PPE and uniforms are up to company standards and order PPE if necessary
  • Support fellow colleagues in all aspects when required
