Deputy Treasurer - Temporary Full-Time - non-union - Up to 6 months or with two weeks written notice

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Deputy Treasurer is responsible for the administration of the day to day municipal accounting and payroll activities as well as the review of financial controls to ensure accounting procedures are within Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and in accordance with the statutory requirements. The Deputy Treasurer will perform the duties in alignment to the organizations mission, vision and values, and work to further its priorities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-secondary diploma in finance, accounting or related discipline; degree preferred
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of public or private sector financial experience in progressively responsible management positions
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
  • Completion of the AMCTO designation, preferred
  • Experience working in a unionized environment, preferred
