Description THE IDEAL CANDIDATE NEED TO BE AN LPN OR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT Summary/Objective: Perform a variety of clinical and/or administrative task to help a dermatologist run their office Essential Functions · Summons and prepares patient for office visit. · Assists Physician or PA with medical office procedures. · Administers medications, including injections, documents meds given or prescribed by ordering provider. · Administers dermatology and pathology biopsy procedures. · Assumes responsibility of maintaining current certification in CPR. · Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policy & procedures and newsletters. · Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting in patient’s record. · Attends support staff and department meetings to keep informed of employee issues and concerns as well as organizational updates. · Maintains confidentiality of clinic materials. · Provides and reinforces patient instruction and education as indicated. Requirements LPN Specialist requirements are: Required Education and Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Must possess active Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Preferred Education and Experience: Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Licensed Practical Nurse. 1 year experience in Dermatology. Medical Assistant Specialist Requirements are: Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment Additional Qualification: 1 Year experience Dermatology.
Responsibilities
The LPN or Medical Assistant will perform clinical and administrative tasks to assist a dermatologist in running their office. Responsibilities include preparing patients for visits, assisting with procedures, administering medications, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
