Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success in technology, software, product, and system development.
Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant challenges. You will demonstrate your expertise by contributing ideas and working both independently and collaboratively as part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.
This role is contributing to the Flowmeter development in Business Line Instrumentation in Göttingen. Main stakeholders are R&D management and product management.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Acting as an independent and reliable contributor in R&D projects with limited supervision.
  • Performing a wide range of tasks in mechanical design and documentation — from building concepts and gathering requirements to designing, implementing, integrating, testing, transferring technology, or carrying out maintenance and operations.
  • Understanding and applying relevant processes, standards, guidelines, and requirements, including architectural and design constraints.
  • Driving the achievement of assigned targets in terms of quality, time, scope, and cost, while proactively identifying and addressing risks.

You will join a dedicated, highly qualified, and motivated team of experts in design, simulation, testing, and approval, where you will have the opportunity to grow and excel.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • Degree: Master’s degree in Engineering Science, specializing in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art CAD tools, BOM management systems, and project management tools, and an enjoyment of working with these systems.
  • Insight into the requirements of the EMF flow meter market.
  • Ideally, prior design experience in other flow measurement techniques in addition to EMF.
  • Ability to demonstrate practical experience in EMF coil design.
  • Preferably, advanced knowledge of Creo Parametric, Windchill, DFM tools, and SAP.
  • Comfortable communicating fluently in German and English.
