JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Drafting Technologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical design principles and have experience in heavy construction attachment design and/ or heavy metal fabrication. This role will focus on product design and development and supporting the engineering and design team.

EXPERIENCE

• Completion of a Mechanical Engineering Technology (CAD/3D design) or equivalent program in drafting or completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program or four to five years of related experience plus completion of college or industry courses in drafting
• 3-5 year of experiences in heavy manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in Autodesk Suite or similar CAD software for mechanical design is essential.
• Experience with hydraulics and welded structure design ( AWS, CWB or ISO 2553)
• Familiarity with project scheduling tools and techniques.
• Strong organization skills with excellent attention to detail
• Understanding of mechanical knowledge encompassing manufacturing processes, drafting, and system integration.

  Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year

• Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data
• Design and develop mechanical systems and components using CAD software such as Autodesk Suite
• Develop and prepare design sketches
• Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets
• Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
• Write technical reports
• Create detailed CAD technical packages including schematics and drafting documentation in accordance with ASME codes and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project scheduling aligns with manufacturing timelines.
