Description
Design and Estimation Engineer (Fire and Plumbing)   An MEP Design Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for construction projects, including commercial buildings, residential developments, and industrial facilities. The role ensures that all MEP systems are efficient, compliant with relevant regulations, and properly integrated into the overall building design.   Responsibilities :   * Prepare fire protection and/or plumbing system designs. * Develop firefighting layouts, sprinkler layouts, and/or plumbing drawings. * Perform hydraulic calculations for fire protection and/or plumbing systems. * Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs). * Estimate project costs and prepare tender submissions. * Review technical specifications and tender requirements. * Coordinate with architects, consultants, and MEP teams. * Ensure compliance with BS, NFPA standards, and local fire and plumbing codes. * Verify the accuracy of drawings, estimates, and designs prior to submission. * Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Outlook, AI tools, and other relevant software.   Candidate Profile :   * Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. * Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in fire protection and/or plumbing design and estimation. * Sound knowledge of firefighting systems, plumbing networks, and MEP coordination. * Familiarity with BS, NFPA standards, and local fire and plumbing codes. * Ability to prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates, while providing guidance to the Quantity Surveyor (QS). * Good understanding of hydraulic calculations and technical drawings. * Experience in tender preparation and technical documentation. * Strong coordination and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
