The position includes development of high-level product requirements and specifically focuses on product specification, design for configurability, and automating systems.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Implement engineering and manufacturing changes to automate Solidworks solid models via Confgit Engineering platform to provide data for downstream teams and systems.Read and interpret engineering drawings and data sheetsWorks under general supervision, relies on limited instructions and pre-established guidelinesUses basic programming to configure elevator systems based on engineering documentationTest and debug automation content outputs from the design automation applicationMaintain/develop department owned templates, calculation sheets, and reference documentsSupport and implement enhancements to the design automation application and supporting interfacesAssist in developing design validation models and configurations for new product development projectsSupport engineering and Customer Service Center in writing configuration rules related to design automationWorks in team environment with engineers, configurators, and representatives from sales and ITAdheres to all safety procedures and company safety standardsAdheres to the corporate compliance policy and ensures that behavior in the workplace is that of a responsible professionalThis is a safety sensitive positionWho we are looking forEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or other related engineering field or 5+ years of Equivalent Solidworks or Design Experience5+ years of design and drafting experience is required in an architectural, structural, or mechanical design environmentIntermediate understanding of bills of material, manufacturing and product structuresMust possess excellent customer service skillsMust possess strong decision-making abilitiesMust possess effective verbal and written communication skillsRequires the ability to read, interpret, and comprehend technical documentsRequires the ability to clearly communicate technical requirementsFluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Experience with Solidworks requiredExperience using PLM/PDM software such as Windchill, SolidWorks PDM, ENOVIA, etc…Must understand and be able to author basic programming logic and syntax (Visual BASIC or JavaScript preferred)Demonstrated experience of working in a team environmentWhat we offerThe final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years of experience within the industry, education, office location, etc.Provided they meet all eligibility requirement under the applicable plan documents, employees will be offered medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, supplemental medical plans, basic life insurance, AD&D, short term and long term disability, optional life and AD&D, optional spouse and dependent life insurance, dependent life insurance, flexible spend account, health savings account, identity theft monitoring, pet insurance, Employee Assistance Program, Wellness program, and tuition reimbursement.
