Description

The ideal candidate will work closely within a small team and have experience within a design and/or engineering based discipline. Whether you’re coming from a specialist or from a more generic background, we want you to be bold, stay curious and dive into the opportunities we have to offer.
If you want a balance of design and technology in real-world applications, coupled with an opportunity to work alongside a broad range of industry sectors, then this might be what you have been looking for. Holroyd Components are industry leaders in the design and manufacture of bespoke surface heating elements for a range of specialist applications, with an ongoing programme of investment in plant, machinery and resources. Could you be a part of progressing the company into new markets, with new applications and an optimisation of manufacturing processes and efficiencies?
Reporting to the R&D manager, this job role will require the candidate to have a thorough understanding of engineering disciplines and have experience in design ideation, CAD and physical prototyping. Individual project management will be key, as will an ability to think quick on your feet when tasked with problems to solve.
As a design and development engineer, you’ll handle these tasks:
- Overseeing the progression of development projects, either internally or working with existing and new clients
- Completing product and material testing, writing technical reports with an unrivalled attention to detail
- Problem solving over a range of scenarios within established and new production processes
- Assisting other departments in the completion of projects and orders, offering your expertise and guidance where required
