Position Overview Saylor seeks a visionary but grounded, creative-obsessed Creative Director Art & Design to lead design creative for social and 360 brand and entertainment marketing campaigns. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing client projects as well as overseeing the work of a team of designers and ensuring the health of the design editorial team overall. We will look to you to inspire the creativity of the designers on your team, provide a path for growth for all junior designers, and speak to creative design systems and campaign creative for internal and external stakeholders. About You A radical collaborator with impeccable taste and references, you know how to identify and translate the best ideas in the room into gorgeous designs. You’re adept at navigating the intricacies of entertainment marketing, with a proven track record in guiding high-profile creative projects from conception to completion. You love a motion asset! A pitch deck! And you love talking with clients about their needs, offering exciting solutions that spark conversation and best-in-class creative. The ideal candidate will champion Saylor’s core values, advocating for transparency, inclusivity, and mentorship within the team and the creative process. Location and Salary This is a full-time, exempt role with a salary range of $140,000-$190,000, depending on experience. This person must be LA-based and available to come into the Saylor office in Echo Park on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Responsibilities Client-Facing Creative Leadership Lead graphic and motion design creative for Saylor’s clients in collaboration with the Art Director/Executive Creative Director; Assist in concept development. Set the creative direction and standards for higher-level projects, ensuring they align with strategic objectives and push creative boundaries. Act as the senior creative liaison between the Creative department and key clients, articulating creative strategies to clients and ensuring their vision is met effectively, on time, and within budget Foster long-term client relationships through consistent delivery of exceptional design work. Periodically step in as a high-level maker on projects, especially during the exploratory phase of establishing overall campaign visual languages. Lead campaign pitch deck creation; collaborate with ECD and Strategy to execute campaign-winning pitches. Work with Saylor’s Account and Strategy teams to help set, maintain, and execute the visual language for brands/campaigns. Review all creative before it reaches the internal partners and client. Design Team Nurturing Build and maintain a robust network of talent to support project demands. Promote a culture of open communication and collaboration within the Creative department and across teams, ensuring that the creative vision is clearly understood and embraced agency-wide. Provide daily feedback and mentorship to designers on their respective projects, offering guidance and solutions to both problem-solve and to uplevel creative. Serve as a mediator and advocate for the design team, ensuring their voices are heard and respected across all departmental interactions. Oversee the mentorship and growth of the agency’s design team, including hiring new design talent. Foster an environment of creativity and inspire team members to participate in internal creative endeavors. Get people psyched to make stuff. Qualifications 10+ years of professional design experience, including senior-level leadership roles. Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence across brand, digital, and campaign work. Proven experience leading, mentoring, and growing multidisciplinary design teams. Comfortable balancing hands-on design work with high-level creative oversight and direction. Experience working in fast-paced, agency environments with multiple clients and workstreams. Strong communicator with the ability to deliver clear, constructive, and motivating creative feedback. Deep understanding of brand systems, visual storytelling, and modern design tools and workflows.
