H&H Properties is a design-build construction company that specializes in residential custom homes and renovations. The incumbent Draftsman will become a part team of our team as an essential team player, in the designing and building of highly complicated and specialized luxury homes. An aptitude for architectural, construction, and mechanical drafting, as well as a willingness to work hard to build homes that are customized to each family; will ensure the incumbent draftsman becomes a key factor in our organization.

Requirements:

• Ability to operate computer-aided design software (Vectorworks)
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from Project Managers and Design Team
• Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe
• Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions
• Take preliminary design sketches from conceptual to presentable plans and elevations for client review
• Create technical drawings and designs for interior design (ie. Cabinet & Tile Drawings)
• Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
• Create full sets of final construction drawings after design complete
• Prepare complete printed documentation packages for Construction
• Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations
• Systematically saving sketches and drawings on our CAD server; keeping the server organized; updating project folders and files as jobs progress and revisions are made.
• Exhaustively reviewing and checking sketches and drawings for errors, before being sent to architects, subcontractors, project managers, etc.
• Seeking clarity and understanding from engineers and project managers when you are not 100% certain of something.
• Organizing and uploading drawings to web-based storage sites/collaboration project sites to share drawings with project and subcontractors.
• Create, edit, and update standard details for use in projects.

In essence, the Design Draftsman is a very important position, and is essentially the go to person for every drawing that flows into or out of H&H Properties. It is a position of great responsibility, requiring not only excellent Computer skills, but also good communication skills, organizational abilities, and the strongest possible focus on quality. This person is the keeper of the drawings, who sees sketches become drawings that ultimately become construction documents.
