Job Description The Design Engineer – Concept Design is responsible for developing innovative engineering concepts from initial requirements through early-stage design. This role focuses on feasibility studies, conceptual layouts, design calculations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate ideas into viable engineering solutions before detailed design and production. Develop and evaluate conceptual designs based on customer needs, technical requirements, and business objectives Create concept sketches, layouts, and preliminary 3D models using CAD and engineering tools Perform feasibility studies, trade-off analyses, and high-level design calculations Define design intent, assumptions, risks, and constraints during early project phases Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and project teams to ensure concepts are practical and cost-effective Support design reviews, presenting concepts, alternatives, and recommendations to stakeholders Ensure concepts align with engineering standards, safety regulations, and sustainability goals Contribute to innovation initiatives, value engineering, and continuous improvement Prepare and maintain concept design documentation, including specifications and reports Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, or a related field Experience in concept design, product development, or early-stage engineering Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, NX, AutoCAD) Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, materials, and manufacturing processes Experience performing concept-level calculations and simulations Ability to translate abstract ideas into structured engineering solutions Additional Information Equal Opportunity: We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
