The Boeing Company’s Mobility Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) team is looking for a Mid-Level Structures & Payloads Design Engineer to join the exciting KC-46 Structures Team based in Tukwila, WA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 2 or more years’ experience in Structural Design and Analysis of Aerospace industry.
  • 2 or more years of CATIA V5 experience
  • Basic understanding of structural engineering fundamentals including airframe/component design and materials

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 7 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 or more years of experience in Structural Design and Requirements for Modification and or Repairs on transport class aircrafts
  • 2 or more years of Structural Design in supporting Manufacturing
  • 2 or more years of experience with Design for Producibility / DFM/A and producibility trade-offs
  • 1 or more years of GDT

EXPERIENCED LEVEL: $96,050 - $129,950

Responsibilities
  • Develops, integrates, and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
  • Develops, maintains, and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3‑D CAD tools and other design methods
  • Provides product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
  • Performs and integrates analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Manages supplier development, test, and production activities; coordinates with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals
  • Develops new design and analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort
  • Investigates emerging technologies and develops concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
  • Works under general direction
