We're centrally located in Irving, TX, near the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, and we offer a collaborative work environment with casual dress and work-life balance. This position reports to the office 5-days per week and we do not have remote or hybrid opportunities. Only local candidates will be considered as we do not offer relocation assistance. Astura's Design Engineer will serve as a design resource during the development process. The primary goal of the Design Engineer is to use established requirements to design devices using CAD software. Job Responsibilities: CAD Modeling: Responsible for modeling of complex parts using Solidworks CAD software including; design tables, surfacing, and complex assemblies. Manufacturing Drawings: Responsible for creating manufacturing drawings per ASME Y14.5. Tolerance Analysis (GD&T): Responsible for performing tolerance analysis on all interfacing devices. Design for Manufacturability: Responsible for working with manufacturing personnel to ensure parts can be efficiently manufactured. Qualifications Good CAD skills Good understanding of fundamental mechanical principles Creative thinker and problem solver Motivated and self-starter Detail oriented Organized Experience with Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, Outlook Hands-on mechanical ability and machine experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Requirements Minimum of 1-3 years in product design Formal CAD and GD&T training preferred Manufacturing experience is a plus Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
