Description

We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Design Engineer who thrives in a fun, creative, and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a cross-functional product development team—including Industrial Designers, Graphic Designers, Prototyping Engineers, and Compliance Specialists—to bring innovative backyard wooden playset concepts to life. You’ll play a key role in refining and perfecting the technical aspects of each project, supporting the process from early design through pre-production. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about combining engineering expertise with imaginative product design to create safe, durable, and exciting play experiences for families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to balance creativity with practical engineering constraints.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working cross-functionally in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, project-driven setting.
  • Knowledge of woodworking, materials, or structural design is a plus.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and compliance for consumer products is a plus.

PREFERRED SKILLS (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Experience with woodworking, carpentry, or joinery techniques.
  • Familiarity with children’s product safety standards (ASTM, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, model making, or rapid prototyping tools.
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, or metal fabrication.
  • Sketching or visualization skills to communicate design concepts.
  • Passion for outdoor play products, toy design, or recreational equipment.
