QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years’ design engineering experience.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (desirable).
  • FEA / strength analysis experience.
  • 3D Modelling experience (Inventor desirable).
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • CAD data management experience (desirable).
  • ERP experience (desirable).
  • Knowledge of ADR’s, state and federal transport regulations (desirable).
  • Autodesk Inventor experience (desirable).
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Design, production and upkeep of 3D models, drawings, BOMs and documentation for all BRE products.
  • Develop custom trailer designs with minimal input, errors and rework.
  • Utilise AutoCAD Inventor suite for design and drafting. Store designs in Autodesk Vault Pro.
  • Verify designs via strength analysis using manual calculations and FEA.
  • Work closely with the Design Manager to design to client and BRE specifications.
  • Liaise with Design Manager about any issues with designs or meeting required time frames.
  • Review and specify materials to ensure they are available, within budget, meet specifications and are the best value for money products available.
  • Maintain a focus on cost effective fabrication and installation methodology.
  • Contribute to the engineering department’s continuous improvement goals.
  • Liaise with internal team/subcontractors/suppliers/consultants during design and production to ensure projects requirements are met.
  • Assist production staff with technical queries.
  • Problem-solve production issues to provide prompt solutions from both a design and site management perspective.
