Are you interested in working on high visibility, million$+ projects with major North American OEM’s in the transportation, marine, industrial and drivetrain sectors?
We have recently added multiple new, major North American OEM’s to our customer base and are embarking on our next level of growth.
In the past 24 months, we have completed our second expansion and continued to increase our investment in robotics, CNC and foundry equipment. Our 100,000 sq.ft. facility currently houses 9 pouring lines, 2 heat treating lines and 22 machining centres.
To support this growth, our team of industry veterans is looking for the next leaders in engineering, manufacturing, process planning and mold design to join our team. We have an immediate need for a team member to join our company as a Design Engineer/Engineering Technician.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engineering Degree or Mechanical Technologist Diploma
  • 1 – 5 years experience
  • Excellent verbal/ written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM/CAE systems is an asset
  • Be a strong team player.

  • Ability to function effectively in a high pace environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Study sample products or drawings to determine mechanical requirements to the design of holding fixtures, molds, coils, attachments and materials
  • Calculate and set parameters to regulate casting and machining factors such as speed, aluminum flow, coolant flow, depth and angles of cut, mold requirements
  • Collect and compile experimental data that will assist in the developmental of specification of molds, fixture and tooling for pre-design feedback
  • Assist engineers and production departments in developing, building or testing prototypes for new parts and casting processes
  • Monitor the repair of molds, fixtures and attachments for production processes for quality and on time delivery to the customer (internal/ external)
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, casting requirements, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
  • Work as part of a team in conducting root cause analysis and problem solving of mechanical and operational issues along with preventing recurrence of the problem(s)
  • Examine documents, materials, products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications
  • Bring forth innovative solutions and continuous improvement suggestions
  • Address problems systematically as they arise.
  • Requisition of materials and supplies.
  • Liaison as part of a team with shop floor for resolution in production issues.
  • Report to manager in a timely matter any information that affects products for problem solving.
  • Support Lean tools and techniques to manage and control production.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.
