REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS Degree construction management or relevant field. (7 Years of experience in a project engineer position will be considered in lieu of degree.)
  • Current engineer license (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of construction field rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
  • Strong project management and supervision skills.
  • Ability to work in an office environment as well as in the field as requested.
  • Advanced/Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products including Outlook.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualisations software such as AutoCAD.
  • Ability to learn company specific software as needed or required.
  • Proven track record working with people, teams and projects.
  • Ability to work independently, within a team and in a diverse workforce.
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
Responsibilities
  • Assist Design Development Manager & Project Managers and coach Project Engineers in performance of all projects within your portfolio ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards to meet revenue, profit targets, and KPIs.
  • Produce Fire Protection Design solutions according to Australian Standards with CAD and Revit.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure suitability of design.
  • Review tender allowance and project specifications to ensure compliance contracted Scope of Works in accordance Delegation of Authority guidelines.
  • Interpret building plans, regulations and codes of practice to direct progress of works, making sure that specifications and regulations are followed, and proper methods and materials are used.
  • Conduct site visits to review project progress, resolve issues and update construction programs and forecasts as required in line with physical and financial targets.
  • Champion and ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and company safety policies, as well as leading safety initiatives and promoting adherence to the Safety Cardinal Rules within your field team.
  • Monitor industrial relations and manage employees and subcontractors to maintain good working relationships with employees, trade unions, and industry associations.
  • Cooperate, communicate and foster positive relationships with project managers, project participants, team members, management, vendors and clients to provide assistance and technical support.
  • Champion and ensure Procore use and ensure all projects are setup in Procore and field staff adequately equip and trained.
  • Resolve contract value discrepancies, ensure compliance with PMO processes and accurate setup of new projects in project management systems with the Project Managers.
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
