Based in our Kearsley office the design team is critical to our growth plan and the development of our business.

THE ROLE

In this role you work within the design team and will be responsible for undertaking ICP project quotations and design approvals for networks at LV to 11kV. The ideal candidate will have worked for an ICP/IDNO or CPO previously and have good knowledge of the various required processes and design software packages.

As our Design Engineer you will be integral in the designing of adoptable networks from Low voltage up to 11kV, and also preparing and submitting design documents to DNO/IDNO/ENA G81 adoptable standards. You will ultimately handover Approved Designs to the construction department for works to be carried out once signed off. You will record and process technical/design data, updating design trackers, and internal business systems, and ensure there is strict compliance with company systems, processes, and procedures. Other notable responsibilities include:

• Designing adoptable networks from Low voltage up to and including High Voltage at 11kV/20kV
• Undertaking WinDebut software calculations
• Specifying equipment, including Substation switchgear and associated equipment.
• Assessing suitable substation earthing designs.
• Preparing and submitting design documents to DNO/IDNO/ENA G81 adoptable standards.
• Assessing Electric Vehicle schemes to CPO requirements
• AutoCAD drafting to produce design plans and single line diagrams.
• Instructing and tracking Land rights on projects.
• Provide efficient support to the Design and Construction teams.
• Liaise with clients, CPOs, DNOs, IDNOs, and external stakeholders relating to design activities.
• Building and maintain existing and new client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction KPI’s are met.
• Attend client and internal meetings as required.
• Handover of designs to the construction department.
• Record and process technical/design data, updating design trackers, and internal business systems.
• Perform general administration duties relating to the role.
• Ensure compliance with company systems, processes, and procedures.
• Undertake outline designs for tendering purposes– carry out the most cost-effective design solution liaising with DNO’s, technical consultants and suppliers where applicable and submit to DNO’s for prompt design approval.
• Take projects from mobilisation through to completion on time and in budget in a controlled and co-ordinated manner
