POSITION SUMMARY  Assist the Product Development designers, engineers and Manager of the department to design, develop and improve new or existing products. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Primary accountability for specific functions and results) 1. Serves as a positive role model consistent with Polo’s corporate culture at all times. 2. Analyzes various designs requirements and recommends possible solutions or alternate constructions. 3. Provides information when required for cost estimating, and toVisual Designerfor illustrations required for sales aids. 4. Construct prototypes per the Designer/Engineersinstructionsto meet customer and internal requirements. 5. Gather raw materials, shop-aids,tooling,and attachments necessary to build prototypes. 6. Help set up prototype equipment and usesexperimental materials to test theories developed. 7. Assist Designers/Engineersby communicating with production personnel regarding ideas,drawings,and products in the development of designs to resolve problems and to provide prototypes on schedule. 8. Work with theDesigners/Engineersto communicate important product information needed to quote the manufacturing cost. 9. Work withDesignersand theBOM Creation Team.to provide all essential information necessary to create a productionbill of manufacturing. 10. Investigatesand findssolutions to problems. 11. Document filing asrequired. 12. Maintain a good attendance record according to companypolicy. 13. Attendingdepartmental meetings as well as meetings assigned by management. 14. Must be a strong team player and interact well with others. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Not essential & could be performed by others, if necessary) 1. Other duties as assigned.   2. Ability and willingness to attend seminars trade shows, and other manufacturing facilities when required. 11. Ability to find problems, looks for causesor effects, and finds solutions. 12. Knowledge of basic math. 13. Creative design ability. 14. Providespositive attitude for team involvement. 15. Skills in operating various office equipment such as calculator, copy machine, facsimilemachine,and telephone system. Physical Requirements: 1. Close visual work on the computer for long periods of time. 2. Ability to read, write and communicate 100% of the time via phone, e-mail or in person to internal and external customers. 3. Moves frequently about the facility walking, bending,climbing,and reaching. 4. Able to remain in a stationary position standing or sitting 50% of the time. 5. Occasionally lifts/and or carries objects about the facility up to 35 lbs. or with the proper equipment. 6. Frequently ascends and descendsmulti-levelarea via stairs. Work Environment: 1. Usually in typical officeenvironment,when in plant environment, could be exposed to noise, fumes, and variation in temperature.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design, development, and improvement of products by creating prototypes and analyzing design requirements. Collaborate with production personnel and the BOM team to resolve problems and provide essential manufacturing information.
