Position Title: Design Engineer Location: San Diego, CA Clearance: Minimum Secret   Position Summary ISPA Technology is seeking a Design Engineer to lead the development, evaluation, and implementation of engineering designs for complex systems, equipment, and infrastructure projects. The Design Engineer III is responsible for analyzing requirements, developing alternative design concepts, preparing technical specifications, and supporting the integration of mechanical, structural, electrical, and electronic systems. This role provides technical expertise throughout the design lifecycle, ensuring solutions meet performance, reliability, safety, and customer requirements.   Position Responsibilities * Develop, evaluate, and compare alternative engineering designs, layouts, and system configurations. * Create and review engineering drawings, models, specifications, and technical documentation. * Analyze structural, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic design requirements. * Conduct design studies, trade-off analyses, and feasibility assessments to identify optimal solutions. * Support the development of preliminary and final design packages for projects and customer requirements. * Evaluate design modifications and engineering change requests throughout the project lifecycle. * Review and incorporate new technologies, methodologies, and design approaches into engineering solutions. * Perform system integration analyses to ensure compatibility between components and subsystems. * Support testing, validation, and verification activities to confirm design performance and compliance. * Collaborate with project managers, engineers, technicians, and customers to resolve technical issues. * Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and quality assurance processes. * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering personnel.   Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. * 7+  years of professional experience in mechanical, structural, electrical, or electronic design engineering. * Knowledge of engineering design principles and practices across mechanical, structural, electrical, and electronic systems. * Proficiency in engineering analysis, modeling, and design documentation. * Ability to evaluate alternative design concepts and recommend effective engineering solutions. * Understanding of manufacturing, production, installation, and system integration processes. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills. * Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, standards, and regulatory requirements.   Why Choose ISPA Technology?  * Competitive salary packages with bonus potential.  * Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage.  * Generous PTO allotment and 11 paid holidays.  * Robust life and disability insurance options.  * 401(K) with company match, for your future.  * A culture of recognition and rewards for your contributions.  * Opportunities for relocation and professional development.    This is a fast-paced and impactful position where your expertise will directly contribute to meeting critical Government customer requirements.
