Design Engineer (Based at MAS Linea Intimo - Biyagama) The Activewear Value Stream delivers high-performance sportswear and athleisure solutions designed for technical functionality, durability and everyday versatility— serving sports, lifestyle and performance segments. Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the MAS Activewear team as a Design Engineer. We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to deliver customer required seamless fabrications and knit constructions with right quality and right time whilst achieving desired commercialization feasibility. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare the sample design and knitting programs and evaluate with the senior technical executive whether the customer expected quality and feasibility is achieved in-order to ensure that the sample is accurate prior delivering to the customer. Analysing measurement specifications and behaviours by verifying technical details throughout the development cycle whilst delivering the finalized and precise knitting program aligning to the T&A Support for a smooth and stabilize development operations by ensuring on time and precise program preparation and furthermore with a minimal cost impact Liaise with the customer/merchandiser/ garment technologist/DNA team and bulk team in the event of measurement adjustments/feasibility of the knitting technologies Liaise with the customer/merchandiser/ garment technologist/DNA team and bulk team in the event of measurement adjustments/feasibility of the knitting technologies Attend/ conduct relevant meetings with both external and internal customers whilst, coordinating with the relevant teams/ departments by ensuring the smooth product life cycle whereas meeting customer expectations and lead times Involve with process and product improvements projects and elevate novel seamless technology with optimal resources whilst reducing the development cost To ensure adherence to organizational standards such as 5s whilst, safety measures, leading MOS initiatives within the team KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Degree in Textile Engineering, NDT, Engineering, or Physical Sciences 1–2 years of relevant work experience Strong communication and negotiation skills Excellent analytical skills Good planning and organizing skills
