About the Role

Working within our Engineering and Product Development team, you will be responsible for designing innovative products that are practical, manufacturable and built to perform in Australia's toughest conditions.

You'll work closely with production, procurement, quality, marketing and suppliers to deliver products from concept through to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products and improve existing product ranges.
• Produce detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
• Design products with a strong focus on sheet metal manufacturing, fabrication and assembly.
• Develop electrical and mechatronic systems where applicable, including integration of wiring, electronics, actuators and control systems.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings and revision control.
• Prototype, test and validate designs to ensure performance, reliability and manufacturability.
• Work closely with Production to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs.
• Support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and continuous product improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with suppliers to source components and evaluate manufacturing processes.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian and international standards.
• Support the company's Intellectual Property (IP) strategy through accurate engineering documentation.
• Provide technical support across production, service and customer support teams.

About You

You'll be an engineer who enjoys practical product development and takes pride in seeing your designs become real products.

You will ideally possess:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Advanced CAD experience using SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal design, fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Experience designing products for manufacture and assembly.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Highly Regarded

Experience in one or more of the following:

• Mechatronics or electrical system design.
• 12V electrical systems.
• Wiring harness design.
• CNC manufacturing.
• Laser cutting, folding and welded assemblies.
• Aluminium fabrication.
• Product testing and validation.
• Caravan, RV, automotive, defence, mining or manufacturing industries.
