About the Role The Design Engineer will contribute to the development of structural steel constructions, mechanical components, and equipment for offshore energy applications. This role supports ongoing project execution in a growing and high-activity business area. As part of the NOV APL design team, you will work closely with multidisciplinary engineers and gain hands-on experience across structural and layout design. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to develop technical expertise and build a strong foundation in offshore engineering. At NOV APL, we foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.    What We Offer * A strong entry point into the offshore energy industry within a growing business area  * Exposure to real engineering projects and hands-on design work  * A collaborative, international team environment with experienced engineers  * Structured onboarding and opportunities for technical development  * Long-term career growth and learning opportunities    Key Responsibilities * Develop 3D designs of structural steel constructions and associated components  * Produce 2D engineering drawings, including specification of tolerances and detailed technical requirements  * Identify and propose creative and effective design improvements  * Contribute actively during project execution phases in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams  * Support and contribute to engineering studies and tender/bid activities  * Ensure structured, high-quality deliverables in line with project and company standards   Qualifications & Skills Essential Qualifications * BSc in Engineering (relevant experience may compensate for formal education)  * 0–5 years of experience in mechanical or structural steel design (offshore/energy experience is an advantage)  * Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools  * Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team  * Structured, quality-conscious, and motivated to work in a dynamic environment  * Proficiency in English  * Proficiency in Norwegian  Desired Qualifications * Knowledge of Vault and Navisworks  * Understanding of mechanical and/or structural systems  * Experience from offshore or energy-related projects   * Recent graduates are encouraged to apply    Soft Skills * Strong motivation to learn and develop technical understanding  * Curious and open-minded approach to new challenges  * Positive attitude and good team collaboration skills  * Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced environment    Team & Environment You will join an international design team of approximately 20+ engineers, working across structural and layout design.
