Foremost has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer or Design Technologist, located at our facility in Calgary, Alberta. As a member of the engineering department you will have an opportunity to be a part of a team to take on challenging design projects for vehicles or drilling rigs destined for some of the harshest operating conditions on earth. The exposure to a variety of sophisticated mechanical, fluid power, electrical and hydraulic control systems is unsurpassed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Graduate of an accredited university program
• Must be eligible to practice under APEGA
• A Design Engineering Technologist with 3-5 years’ experience would also be considered
• Experience with Creo (ProE)/Solid Works and AutoCAD is required
• Experience with ProEngineer or Inventor software is an asset but not required
• 5 - 10 years of experience working as a Professional Engineer and performing detailed mechanical and structural design for manufacturing.
• Knowledge of hydraulics is considered an asset.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

• Work on putting together conceptual layouts for both custom and incremental designs
• Design of structural components
• Performance calculations and stress analysis
• Detailed engineering documentation and production documentation
• Design of hydraulic and electric systems
• Design of control systems – manual, pilot operated, and electronic
• Technical production support
• Field service and parts support
• Trouble shooting and commissioning of new equipment
• Liaise with the sales department to develop proposals and offer customer support
• Other duties within the scope of the position, as assigned
