As a Design Engineer, you’ll contribute to the success of some of Australia’s most challenging and innovative infrastructure projects. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team of estimators, planners, delivery engineers, and designers to bring ideas to life, solve design issues, and drive quality outcomes that are practical, cost-effective, and buildable.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil), Civil Engineering degree, or equivalent qualification.
  • RPEQ registration or Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience on civil infrastructure construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of civil and structural design processes.
  • Confident working with a range of stakeholders including designers, construction teams and clients.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office, scheduling software and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate design activities across tenders and live projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timeframes.
  • Support the development and implementation of Design Management Plans.
  • Collaborate with estimators, planners, and construction teams to integrate buildability, risk and methodology into design deliverables.
  • Facilitate Safety in Design workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Review design documentation to ensure compliance, quality and alignment with scope and budget.
  • Monitor and report on progress, identifying and managing design risks and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of consultancy agreements and assist with managing design-related contracts and budgets.
