MIN. EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing Science
  • 3 Years of related experience in lieu of some education will be considered

SKILLS/JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of simple mechanical mechanisms is necessary
  • Good communication and writing skills in English are necessary
  • Knowledge of non-ferrous sand casting foundry practices is helpful
  • Knowledge of commercial hardware design is helpful
  • Prior sales training/experience required
  • CAD Training/Experience is helpful
  • Considerable walking and climbing of stairs is required at times

Responsibilities

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide day-to-day and long term support of our manufacturing operations with engineering level inputs on process improvements, problem solving of production issues, cost reduction and documentation control
  • Design products using CAD programs from the engineering computer – Work with customers as needed to complete this effort
  • Perform testing on products as appropriate and necessary for conformance to all certifications

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

  • Accept assignments from the engineering manager for the development of new products
  • Make telephone sales calls and visits to customers and prospective customers as required
  • Design hardware as needed for customer applications
  • Design cost effective components and assemblies for manufacturing using principles of good casting design
  • Create and maintain CAD drawings necessary for projects assigned
  • Implement new product introduction to manufacturing from the making of the master pattern and samples, the production pattern with fixtures and tools through completion of the first production run
  • Monitor costs to make sure they are within our estimates and take corrective action as needed
  • Plan and follow in a timely manner the completion of assigned samples to implement engineering efforts
  • Complete the estimating process on all projects for which he/she is responsible
  • Accept special projects and other duties as assigned

RELATED DUTIES:

  • Attend our booth at trade shows as needed including set-up visitor interface, takedown and shipping
  • Follow up all inquiries received at trade shows
  • Accept special projects from the engineering manager – these include but are not limited to:
  • CAD System Management and Priority System Control
  • Participate in continuous improvement process
