Position Title: Design Engineer Reports To: Engineering Manager
Department: Engineering Direct Reports (if applicable): N/A
FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY

The Design Engineer will collaborate on process and continuous improvement. They are responsible for demonstrating high-level performance that delivers high-quality designs, which meets customer regulations. The Design Engineer will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the company.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Logical thinking ability and a strong attention to detail
  • An understanding of mechanical design process
  • Demonstrate initiative; results oriented; willingness and ability to institute change
  • CAD Experience (Pro-E Creo preferred)
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, along with exceptional organization skills
  • Familiar with injection molding process
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, IQMS, Outlook)

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have flexible working schedule to support operations

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Part and product design and development using 3D CAD software
  • Develop unique solutions to solve product design challenges
  • Support the Product Development group to develop solid models, engineering drawings and BOMs for new product concepts
  • Provide engineering support to the product design team and other company departments including automation, molding process, and quality control
  • Coordinate engineering changes from concept through production release
  • Contribute to rapid prototype development by using 3D printers
  • Part analysis using 3D scanner
