SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Background in mechanical, plumbing, building services or heating system design
Experience using CAD (AutoCAD preferred)
Familiarity with renewables (heat pumps, underfloor heating, etc.) is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Competence with Microsoft Excel and design tools
Qualifications: HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering preferred

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Design Engineer to join our renewables division. You’ll be designing low-carbon heating systems (including heat pumps, underfloor heating, and MVHR), creating 2D CAD drawings, and supporting internal teams and clients with technical solutions.
You might have recently graduated university or, already be working in renewables, or even looking to pivot from a mechanical, plumbing or CAD background. What we are looking for is a desire to learn and get stuck in - we’ll support your further development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and specify renewable heating systems (e.g., heat pumps, underfloor heating, MVHR)
Produce accurate 2D CAD designs and layout drawings
Prepare technical quotations and documentation
Liaise with suppliers and internal sales teams
Ensure designs meet UK Building Regulations and MCS standards
Provide technical support to customers and colleagues
