The Design Excellence Planning Lead plays a critical role in coordinating, tracking, and delivering design projects within a specific category. Acting as the connective tissue between design, marketing, and operations, this role ensures projects are delivered on time, on brief, and on budget.
The Design Excellence Planning Lead oversees multiple design projects in parallel, ensuring resource planning, stakeholder alignment, and project workflows are optimised to support the success of Reckitt’s Design Excellence function. This role demands exceptional organisation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Management & Delivery
  • Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of design projects within a specific category.
  • Oversee project timelines, deliverables, budgets, and dependencies to ensure successful execution.
  • Manage project documentation, status tracking, and milestone reporting.
  • Anticipate and resolve issues quickly to avoid delivery delays or resource bottlenecks.
  • Resource Planning & Traffic Management
  • Maintain weekly designer schedules, ensuring tasks are assigned in line with skills and workload capacity.
  • Identify capacity challenges and forecast resource requirements across multiple workstreams.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Design Excellence Operations to support talent planning, freelance support, and recruitment where needed.
  • Coordinate with Senior Design Excellence Managers and Design Excellence Leads to balance workloads and streamline workflows.
  • Internal Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for brand, marketing, and innovation teams.
  • Translate briefs and project requirements into clear deliverables for design teams.
  • Build strong relationships across internal teams to foster collaboration and clarity.
  • Ensure expectations are managed, met, and exceeded across all project engagements.
  • Process Improvement & Operational Support
  • Support the development and rollout of tools, templates, and systems that enhance design operations.
  • Identify and implement strategies to drive operational efficiency and reduce complexity.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of briefing, scoping, and reporting workflows.
  • Actively participate in team retrospectives, sharing feedback and suggesting process optimisations.
  • Reporting & Issue Resolution
  • Generate regular reports on project health, resource utilisation, budget adherence, and risk areas.
  • Provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders and the Head of Design Excellence Operations.
  • Lead proactive problem-solving efforts, escalating issues when appropriate and driving resolution.
