DESCRIPTION

The Human Interface team is seeking a meticulous and quality-obsessed Design Integrity Specialist to play a crucial role in maintaining the beauty and exceptional user experience of Apple software. This position is for a detail-oriented partner with a keen eye for design, committed to ensuring the highest standards across our diverse product ecosystem. You will be instrumental in safeguarding the design integrity of Apple software, advocating for excellent user experiences, and driving continuous improvements in quality standards. Collaborating with engineering teams, you will identify technical challenges or limitations that may have been overlooked during the design phase. This role involves reviewing the entire range of products, adaptations, and apps to protect the design integrity of Apple Software, including advocating for designing for accessibility and inclusiveness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to analyze problems from multiple angles, identify underlying assumptions, and evaluate potential solutions rigorously.
• A natural inclination and proven track record for tackling highly complex and ambiguous technical challenges, breaking them down into manageable pieces, and driving them to resolution.
• Innate curiosity and persistence in tracking down difficult-to-reproduce issues, often involving subtle timing, race conditions, or specific device/OS configurations.
• An unwavering attention to detail, crucial for identifying subtle UI glitches, performance anomalies, or incorrect framework usage that others might miss.
• Strong collaborative spirit, eager to share knowledge, provide constructive feedback in reviews, and work effectively within cross-functional teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Deep, demonstrable expertise in Apple’s UIKit framework
• Comprehensive understanding of the iOS/iPadOS platform
• Ability to distinguish framework vs. custom implementation
• Familiarity with accessibility best practices and implementation
• Comfortable with Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other design software is a plus
• Previous experience with macOS APIs, Xcode, and development tools are a plus
