Job Summary Henricksen is seeking a Design Intern to join our Minneapolis location. The Design Intern will support internal teams and external partners in developing workplace solutions through materials research, presentation support, and project responsibilities. This internship offers hands-on exposure to the commercial furniture industry, working alongside designers, sales partners, and manufacturer representatives across a variety of project types including corporate, education, healthcare, senior living, and public sector environments. What You’ll Do Research furniture and product solutions to support client projects Maintain and organize the materials library, including fabrics, finishes, and product literature Assist with project presentations, look books, and finish selections Gather inspiration imagery and support visual design storytelling Gain exposure to CET Designer and 3D space planning tools Attend vendor meetings, seminars, and internal learning sessions Support general project coordination and administrative tasks, including accurate time tracking What You’ll Gain Real-world experience in commercial interior design and furniture specification Exposure to client projects, vendor partnerships, and design technology Mentorship from experienced designers and cross-functional team members Requirements What We’re Looking For: Junior or senior-level student, or recent graduate pursuing a bachelor’s program in interior design, interior architecture, or related field (CIDA accredited program preferred) Working knowledge of professional design and/or specifications software (e.g., AutoCAD, CAP Studio or project matrix, project spec, Configura CET, Revit) Interest in contract furniture and creating functional, inspiring workspaces Strong attention to detail and creativity, with solid organizational, problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office365 (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Additional Information Henricksen offers competitive wages based on skills and experience as well as comprehensive benefits packages.
