At Elk Recruitment, we are looking for a driven Design Lead to join our client’s growing team based in Cork. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Lead to make a real impact in an innovative and growing organization.

EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:

  • Must come from a design background and have experience client facing and leading projects
  • Manufacturing experience desirable
  • Manage a technician on the project so management experience is also desirable.
  • Relevant Qualification
  • Supervisory experience in a similar role
  • Experience with BIM is desirable but not essential
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with production design
  • Good IT Skills (Data entry)
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Liaise with relevant departments in the company to ensure all designs are achievable and cost-effective
  • Liasing with the client and keeping them up to date on projects
  • Prepare Drawings using CAD, Revit and BIM Technology
  • Provide advice on the management of projects and design implications.
  • Dealing with and responding to emails
  • Create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by architects and designers and make modifications to existing drawings
  • Ensure that drawings and designs meet client standards
  • Ability to work on own initiative and provide innovative solutions to design issues
  • Provide accurate, detailed and to scale drawings
  • Ensure drawings are compliant with industry and health and safety standards and protocols
  • Strong knowledge of materials and engineering principles to check feasibility of manufacture and construction of the product
  • Present working drawings for use in all stages of the project, tender, manufacture/construction and installation
  • Produce installation and manufacturing documentation
  • Maintain accurate records
