Description Job Title: Design Lead Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design Lead to join our team. This role reports directly to the Site Survey Manager. The Design Lead will work side by side with the Site Surveyor team to ensure the accuracy and quality of all CAD-related design deliverables based on site survey data. This role will involve ensuring design integrity and technical compliance and may include supervising or mentoring a small team of designers. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate directly with the Site Surveyors to translate field reports and site assessment data into accurate CAD models and drawings. Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of the team's CAD models and drawings, maintaining high-quality standards. Provide technical guidance and support to the team, and supervise the day-to-day work of a few team members. Identify and resolve issues in CAD models and drawings by working closely with surveyors, engineers, and sales teams. Ensure that all CAD models and designs comply with industry standards, including familiarity with FBC and NEC code where applicable. Maintain accurate documentation and version control for all CAD models and drawings. Provide constructive feedback and training to improve team proficiency in CAD software and survey quality control procedures. Participate in design reviews and provide input to ensure that designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards. Oversee and conduct regular quality-control audits of CAD models and drawings to ensure they are up to date and accurate. Work closely with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain accurate documentation and version control for all CAD models and drawings. Train and mentor team members on survey quality control procedures and best practices. Complete any additional tasks as directed by leadership. Qualifications: 2+ years of CAD-related experience, preference given to those with a solar background. An understanding of CAD software and its application in solar design is essential. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is required. A background in design or a related technical field (e.g., engineering, architecture). Some electrical knowledge or basic understanding of electrical systems, particularly related to Solar PV/Battery backup, is a strong advantage. Experience in a design-related role, with a strong aptitude for technical problem-solving. Candidates with a Certification in CAD Design or CAD 2 Certification are a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.
