Description About the Role Better Living Components is seeking a strategic and technically proficient Design Manager to lead our design team. You will be responsible for overseeing the creation of structural component designs (truss and wall panels) while managing the operational workflow from initial request to final quote. The ideal candidate is a leader who can mentor designers of varying skill levels and maintain high standards of accuracy and customer service. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of designers with diverse experience levels. Workflow Management: Manage incoming design requests, assign projects to the team, and oversee the end-to-end process. Pricing & Estimating: Handle product pricing and ensure quotes are accurate and competitive within the building materials market. Software Oversight: Utilize MiTek Structure and MiTek Management software to review designs and manage department data. Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for customers to discuss technical requirements and provide internal updates to production and sales teams. Salary Range: $90,000 – $105,000 Benefits: Comprehensive package including Medical, Dental, and 401k Relocation: Assistance available for the right candidate. Requirements Technical Expertise: Proficiency in MiTek Structure and MiTek Management software is required. Experience: Proven track record in structural component design, specifically with wood trusses or wall panels. Leadership Skills: Experience managing or leading a professional team in a fast-paced environment. Strong Communication: Ability to translate complex technical designs into clear information for both employees and clients.
