Design Manager Overview Huskey Building Supply is seeking a skilled Design Manager to lead our structural design team and ensure accurate, efficient, and code-compliant designs that support customers, manufacturing, and field operations. This role is responsible for team leadership, workload forecasting, process improvement, and cross-department collaboration. What You’ll Do as a Design Manager Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing design team. Ensure all design work meets accuracy, quality, and code-compliance standards. Provide technical guidance on complex projects and uphold consistent design practices. Forecast workloads, assign projects, and manage priorities based on customer and schedule needs. Train designers on software, standards, codes, and best practices while promoting continuous improvement. Serve as the primary connection between Sales and Design to improve communication and reduce rework. Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to resolve design-related issues. Build a positive, accountable team culture and manage performance and conflict resolution. Develop and maintain design standards, templates, and workflows; support Lean and software adoption. Contribute to company programs such as Emerging Leaders, Warrior certification, SOP development, KPI tracking, and key customer initiatives. Qualifications Required 5+ years in structural design (EWP, trusses, stick-framed construction). Experience reviewing designs, estimating design time, and training others. Strong knowledge of residential construction, framing systems, and building codes. Proficiency in truss/wall panel design software (MiTek, Alpine, etc.). Leadership experience and strong communication/organizational skills. Must successfully complete a drug screening as part of our commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace Preferred Prior design team leadership experience in building supply or component manufacturing. Familiarity with builder workflows and multi-location operations. Strong understanding of industry software and tools. #INDGA
