DESIGN MANAGER

LA Design Studio is seeking for a Design Manager to lead the creative team of in-house interior designers. The Design Manager will be responsible for overseeing all design related projects and activities while ensuring that the drafting are completed on time with the highest quality standards for the customers to review. He/She will be required to ensure productivity and quality for all design drafting and rendering for customers.
1. Understand the basic understanding and knowledge fundamental interior design principles, including spatial planning, colour theory, materials selection and lighting designs and importance of colour theory and its application. Basic space planning will be help the trainee in being able to optimize functionality and circulation within interior spaces. interior design principles, including spatial planning, colour theory, materials selection and lighting designs.
2. Understanding of AutoCAD commands, tools and functionalities with the ability to create accruate and detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD so that he/she will have the competence in creating technical drawings, floor plan, elevations and sections while understanding layering principles and effective usage of layers to organise drawings.
3. Assist the sales designer create simple 3D models using SketchUp by applying materials and textures to 3D models. He/She should understand how to modal terrain and site features in SketchUp and intergrating SktechUp models with other software for comprehensive design workflows.
4. Use Adobe to create presentations documents by combining mood boards, floor plans, 3D renderings and colour schemes for the sales designer to effectively communicate design concepts to clients which will be able to create a professional proposals and design documentation which will help in client communications and project management.
5. Use the different design software to help the company showcase their work through digital portfolios and social media platforms of the company by presenting the company’s project in a visually appealing and professional manner, highlighting the skills and expertise of each individual designer to reach out to the public and bring awareness to potential customers in reaching out for a consultation.
6. Use 3ds Max to render 3D drawings to assist sales designers in presenting the prosposed visualisation of the interior space planning for customers to have a better understanding and visualise how the space will look like upon completion of renovation. With this, the company will be able to save some cost in engaging outsource designers and be able to manage the time taken to produce the 3D for customers before the work begins to avoid any complications and situations where customers are unhappy with the materials selected as they are unable to see it as a whole during selection hence, 3D rendering will help the customer visualise how the colours and materials will be able to bend in together as a design that the customer prefers.
7. Gain leadership skills to inspire and motivate a team of in-house designers staff with the ability to mentor and guide the designers and help them excel further in their skills. He/she will be able to evaluate and understand the expertise in design theme rendering and assign them tasks pertaining to each individual interior designers and their design concept which will be able to produce the best 3D rendering for customers to have a better visualisation of the concept.
