THE OPPORTUNITY
Pomerleau is currently seeking a talented and motivated Design Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing the design development and technical aspects of design-build projects. If you’re interested in joining one of Canada’s largest construction companies and you’ve strong experience across validating construction methods, actively participating in concept development, and fostering synergies between our design and construction teams then this the perfect position for you!
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing and coordinating the design development and technical aspects of a project, as part of an RFP for a design-build project or other types of partnerships;
- Ensures production of plans and specifications (deliverable) at a level of progress that meets the requirements of our clients and both our estimation and construction teams;
- Develop designs and ensure that any available cost-effective alternatives are reviewed and that the design is optimized in accordance with the RFP instructions;
- Be a key player on the proposal team and collaborate with all stakeholders on the team;
- Monitor the professional firms’ performance, especially in terms of quality, schedule and costs. Once the contract has been acquired, the design manager’s role on the project team will continue until the design has been finalized;
- Manage, develop, ensure and participate within these areas of the design management process; Planning, design development, project development, monitoring professionals’ performance, project execution.
