Description Shive-Hattery's Chicago, IL office has an immediate opening for a new graduate or early career Design Professional with 1 to 3 years of professional experience. This opportunity is a full-time position for a motivated individual with the ability to work & learn and the goal of obtaining an Architect license or NCIDQ certification. Under the direction of the Studio Leader this position performs a variety of duties associated with design expertise primarily on Commercial and Workplace projects and related services, to assist in achieving desired client satisfaction, and business results. Participates and contributes to design discussions, idea generation, collaboration, and design work in drawing, model and 3D image formats. Manages the production and coordination of design process and technical documents under the direction of a licensed design professional. Creates graphical images Produces design and detailing in Revit Attends project and client meetings with design professionals, Interior Designers, and Architects Interacts with and is a representative of Shive-Hattery with clients and contractors as it relates to on-going projects Participates in applicable AIA, NCARB, and/or community activities as able Why Shive-Hattery? Requirements Education: Completion of accredited professional degree program with a Bachelors degree or Masters degree in architecture, interior design, or equivalent in appropriate education and experience Experience: Entry level position and applies to new graduates and individuals with up to 3 years' experience; additional Internships/summer experience is a plus License/Certification: None Basic knowledge of design of architectural systems, construction documentation and associated technology Demonstrates a high degree of aptitude in critical, creative thinking associated with design and the design process Basic understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, life safety code and current ADA requirements. Knowledge of programming, planning, and building performance is beneficial Motivated and creative professional Self-motivated and able to problem-solve independently. Practical experience with Autodesk Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and Google SketchUp is required. Responsibilities

This role involves performing design duties primarily on Commercial and Workplace projects under the direction of a Studio Leader to achieve client satisfaction and business results. Responsibilities include contributing to design discussions, managing the production of technical documents, creating graphical images, and producing design/detailing in Revit.
