DESIGN RESEARCHER:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Design Researcher for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

DESIGN RESEARCHER - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Design Researcher will work on pilot research, user testing, and generative research for digital tools in business banking. The project involves becoming an expert in the frontline experience and contributing as a subject matter expert in various conversations and explorations.

DESIGN RESEARCHER - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Mural and Figma
  • Expertise in qualitative research methods
  • Ability to develop productive relationships with stakeholders and frontline employees
  • Excellent toolbelt of research methods
  • Understanding of how to add value to the software development life cycle through research
  • Great communicator and relationship-builder
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

DESIGN RESEARCHER – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Experience in Interaction Design (IxD)
  • Experience in Content Design (CD)
  • Ability to master complex domain knowledge
  • Accessible design knowledge
  • Strong problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders within and outside of the design team
  • Support designers and business stakeholders in prioritizing potential research activities
  • Develop research fieldwork approaches (moderated or unmoderated) which address business and design objectives
  • Develop research activities to evaluate prototypes and understand user needs
  • Moderate live sessions covering high-complexity or sensitive topics
  • Communicate core themes and implications from research activities to the design team and other stakeholders
  • Design and facilitate ideation sessions and collaborative work activities
