JOB OVERVIEW

Amity International School, Abu Dhabi is seeking a well-qualified, passionate, and experienced Design & Technology Teacher, to join our diverse and dynamic department. Candidates must possess proficiency and teaching experience in GCSE Design and Technology; A level teaching is an advantage. Candidate should have skills in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Electronics. The desired candidate will have a proven track record of raising student attainment.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Design & Technology Education OR
• Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Design & Technology specialization
• Additional qualifications in Resistant Materials and Graphic Design
• Minimum of 2 years experience teaching Design & Technology in an educational setting
• Experience in workshop management and safety procedures
• Knowledge of current Design & Technology curriculum and assessment methods
• Proficiency in CAD software and digital design tools
• Experience with both traditional and modern manufacturing techniques
• Ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
• Strong portfolio demonstrating personal design capabilities
• Experience in organizing and running student design projects and competitions
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and materials
• Capability to maintain and manage technical equipment and resources
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with other departments
