Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Staff/Sr. Design Validation Engineer (Power PSU/BBU/ESS/PCU) located in Taiwan Taipei Wugu Site. As a Staff/Sr. Design Validation Engineer will perform the responsibility for product design validation in Tier 1 customer's PSU/BBU/ESS/PCU Projects request. Here is a glimpse of what you'll do: Ideal candidate prefer has deep understanding of Switched-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) and own knowledge of Battery Management Systems (BMS)/Battery Backup Units (BBU). • Key Responsibilities 1.Test Planning and Strategy Development: (1) Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, product management, manufacturing) (2) Define testing requirements and objectives (3) Develop comprehensive test plans (methodologies, resources, timelines, success criteria) (4) Identify and implement best practices for testing processes 2. Test Design and Implementation: (1) Design and develop test fixtures, automated test scripts, and setups for SMPS and BMS/BBU systems (2) Create detailed test cases and procedures based on specifications and standards (3) Ensure calibration and maintenance of all test equipment 3. Execution of Testing: (1) Conduct various tests (functional, performance, thermal, environmental, safety) (2) Perform capacity and cycle testing on battery systems (3) Measure and analyze output voltage, current, ripple, and noise levels in SMPS 4. Data Analysis and Reporting: (1) Analyze test results and document findings in detailed reports (2) Identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement (3) Present findings to stakeholders with actionable recommendations 5. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: (1) Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues in SMPS and BMS/BBU systems (2) Collaborate with design engineers for troubleshooting (3) Conduct root cause analysis for failures and implement corrective actions (4) Compliance and Standards Adherence: -- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, IEC, ISO) -- Stay updated on changes in standards and incorporate them into practices -- Identify opportunities for process improvements -- Implement new testing technologies and tools 6. Documentation and Knowledge Management: (1) Maintain comprehensive documentation of test plans, procedures, results, and lessons learned (2) Contribute to internal knowledge bases and best practice guides. Here is some of what you'll need: • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field • Experience: (1) 5-10 years in testing SMPS and BMS/BBU systems (2) Proven experience in leading testing projects and teams • Technical Skills: -- Strong understanding of SMPS design principles and testing methodologies -- In-depth knowledge of BMS/BBU functionality and safety standards -- Proficiency in test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, environmental chambers) -- Familiarity with automated testing tools and software code customization (C/C++, Python, VBScripts) • Soft Skills: -- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills -- Strong communication and interpersonal skills -- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively Preferred Qualifications • Experience with regulatory compliance testing (e.g., UL, CE, FCC) • Knowledge of EMI/EMC testing procedures and standards • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Bitbucket).
