DESIGNER (CAD DRAFTER)

AeroGo is a world leader in the manufacturing of innovative equipment for moving heavy loads and tooling utilizing hovercraft and wheeled technology. JOB SUMMARY

The CAD Drafter role is responsible for converting information into detailed CAD models and drawings to facilitate the safe and efficient production of industrial load-moving equipment. You will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and completeness of design documentation, helping to streamline manufacturing processes and ensure product excellence. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with engineers on a variety of products, including custom and standard products. Contribute to a small company that values precision, innovation, and teamwork.
This position is 100% on-site and reports directly to the Director of Engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks to build and manipulate models, assemblies, and drawings.
  • SolidWorks CSWA or CSWP certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with PDM Software, SolidWorks PDM Professional preferred.
  • Ability to understand and translate technical drawings, specifications, and other details.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Ability to solve problems, learn new skills/tools, and work independently as well as a team.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements to meet customer or team needs.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively across departments while building trusting relationships and positively influencing others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Also required is the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders and stairs, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary. Must be able to walk extended distances over uneven ground while wearing proper PPE.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation of engineered component specifications, requirements, tolerances, and manufacturing methods.
  • Effectively use information obtained from specifications, sketches, customer layout drawings, etc. to develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD/DraftSight).
  • Develop detailed production drawings for the shop floor to demonstrate component-level fabrication required to execute projects.
  • Create/Revise/Analyze Part Numbers and Bills of Materials for Engineering Drawings and ERP/MRP system.
  • Create/Revise new and existing legacy models and drawings as necessary.
  • Create/Revise 2D Electrical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic Schematics using AutoCAD/DraftSight.
  • Create/Revise and Release Engineering documentation through the Engineering Change Process.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and provide a high level of design accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage multiple projects in an organized manner.
  • Promote a positive work environment by modeling AeroGo core values.
