INTRODUCTION:

CCA is seeking an enthusiastic, brand-focused Designer to join our marketing and communications team to help bring our brand to life and drive growth across all of our marketing channels! This is an incredible opportunity to help steward the visual identity of one of Canada’s oldest associations and help create a connection between the people who build our country and Canadians from all backgrounds.
The ideal candidate lives and breathes branding and design and is always looking for new ways to help cut through the noise. They are skilled in graphic design and can support on web updates on WordPress and basic video editing. This new team member is creative, organized and detail oriented, and able to wear multiple hats, multitask, and prioritize work on a continual basis. The Designer is easily able to take conceptual ideas and creative visual representations across multiple platforms while upholding brand standards for CCA.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in graphic design, digital design, visual communication, or other design-related fields from a recognized institution or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years proven experience in a graphic design role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, XD, etc.).
  • Experience working within WordPress content management system is expected. Knowledge of front-end programming languages, HTML and CSS, is a bonus.
  • Photography or video creation skills are an asset.
  • Agency experience considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices for web content considered an asset.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position: Designer
Reports to: Manager, Communications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and manage all CCA visual materials and assets, including but not limited to banners, advertisements (print and digital), webpages, photos, reports and guides, graphics, presentations, and printed materials.
  • Steward and champion the CCA brand, ensuring cohesive standards are maintained across all creative assets, channels, and marketing touchpoints.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with a proven record of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Edit video content for social media, website, and marketing campaigns.
  • Prepare and deliver final artwork in formats optimized for web, print, and video, ensuring technical accuracy and high quality.
  • Create and manage templates for internal corporate documentation and materials.
  • Ensures digital designs meet the needs of development and technical teams to ensure feasibility and digital design best practices (mobile first design, etc.).
  • Supports project management to schedule design activities and deliverables within programs and projects.
  • Stay informed on design best practices, trends, and tools, and participates in the local design community.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, third parties, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
