Description Job Summary Designers work as part of a multi-discipline team developing documentation of fire protection design during all phases of multiple simultaneous projects. Assignments will include performing code analysis, interpreting and preparing reports, completing calculations, and producing deliverable drawing sets consisting of life safety, fire alarm and suppression plans, riser diagrams, details and schedules. Job Responsibilities Sets up and manages Revit MEP models Performs Revit modeling and detailing Assists to perform code research Performs cross-discipline discussions and coordination of work for system clash avoidance Prepares narratives, calculations, and drawing documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraints Assists with addendums and RFIs by incorporating agreed upon changes in the contract documents Attends internal meetings, assists to conduct site investigations, and performs contract administration Travel for project-related activities may be required Requirements Required Education & Experience Associates degree or Bachelor of Science in construction/engineering required 5-10 years of experience, specialized experience in fire alarm or suppression is a plus Proficiency with Revit MEP software Demonstrated practical knowledge of codes and related industry standards (IBC, NFPA, etc.) Strong understanding of construction methods Preferred Education & Experience NICET and/or NFPPA certification Ability to perform Revit model management activities on large, complex projects Demonstrated passion for technology and its integration with the AEC industry Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately Strong problem solving and motivation skills Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-design discipline team. Salary range for this position varies between $60,000 – $90,000, depending upon applicable experience.
