The Full-Time Desk Attendant will be the first point of customer contact and will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks related to the facility. This includes greeting customers and visitors in a friendly, professional manner, reception, cash handling, bank deposits etc. The individual will demonstrate initiative on a daily basis, understand the role they play within the community, and have excellent customer service skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a customer service related work environment
  • A minimum of one (1) year computer related experience in a work environment with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of office equipment including facsimile machine, photocopier and interact machines
  • Proven cash handling skills with demonstrated competencies in daily sales and bank deposit functions
  • Must have or willing to obtain current Standard First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and as member of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations specifically concerning the requirements for job hazard analysis and the development of and training on safe work procedures
  • Ability to get along well with others including supervisors, co-workers, members of the public and other partners in service
